In the Name.. What is the Name?
The Name of Jesus Christ is given as this is stated in John 16:23.
If we read Acts 4:1-20 carefully, we notice a few this:
- For it is clear that the scripture refers to only “one Name”
- For it is clear that this Name the scripture refers to is “Jesus Christ”
- For it is clearly stated in Acts 4:10 that the name of Jesus Christ has (also) power to heal
- For it is clearly stated in Acts 4:12 the name of Jesus Christ was given to also save men
- For it is clear that in Acts 4:11 the stone which was set at nought, was the corner stone which refers to Jesus Christ. Please remember Matthew 7:24-27 to know what happens if you don’t use the Rock as your corner stone / foundation and what happens if you use something which isn’t sound such as sand as your foundation. This is the parable Jesus uses to explain what happens if you don’t and if you do obey Him. So concerning this topic of “in the name of” what did Jesus say and would He have you do? Would you found your Christian walk and life on Matthew 28:19-20, would you found it on Acts 2:37-38 or both and is it possible to leave either of those scriptures out? Please keep reading and find out.
- If you read carefully Acts 4:6-7 and Acts 4:14-18 clearly show you who tried to deny the name Jesus Christ even though the power and manifestation of it could not be denied. By trying to cover Jesus’ name up, they first have to acknowledge its existence and reality.
- Furthermore the scripture clearly shows in John 17:6, John 17:11-12 and John 17:26 to whom the name “Jesus Christ” was given, to whom it was passed on after that and what the eventual receiver of this name did with it. Be not confused by Matthew 28:19-20 because the Apostle Peter explained this in Acts 2:37-38. Please note the resemblance between Acts 2:38 and Acts 4:12; Matthew 28:19-20 is not contrary to those scriptures unless you can find scripture which declare the (supposed) other names, to which Matthew 28:19-20 seemingly implies, the way Acts 2:38 and Acts 4:12 declare it.
- Do you believe in the Holy Ghost? Do you believe the Holy Ghost was also promised to the Apostle Peter in Luke 24:44-49 and in John 20:20-22? Do you believe that also the Apostle Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost in the upper room such as Acts 2:1-5 declares? Are these the Apostle Peter his own words which he spoke in Acts 2:39 or did he give out what he received?
